New Darulaman Construction, Camp Darulaman
S&B Infrastructure, Ltd. (S&BI) performed an independent design review for structural design analysis, calculations, drawings, and specifications for the project. The design package was developed by the Record of Engineer (ROE) for the Design-Build project. S&BI reviewed all 25 buildings which consist of K-span and CMU/Concrete buildings. S&BI provided and coordinated the comments with the ROE.
S&BI specifically checked the professional quality, technical accuracy, cross-check design calculations, and design conflicts for the structural design package. S&BI also cross-checked all disciplines against the structural drawings, which included the geotechnical report. Furthermore, S&BI assured that all comments were incorporated into the new design package before submission for government review.
The design review conducted for building design package was in accordance to AED Standard Design Requirements, United Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), American Concrete Institute Standards (ACI), and others.
S&BI also provided value engineering for the design package to minimize project costs. Ultimately, S&BI was able to save money, increase safety, and prevent construction delays for the client.
